Experience and Background
My Practice
I am a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience treating a wide variety of adults and couples. I do both individual and couple's therapy. I have particular expertise in the following areas:
•Anxiety and Post Traumatic Stress
•Depression
•Trauma and Dissociation
•LGBT Issues
•Parenting
•Alternative family structures
•Life Transitions
In addition to doing psychotherapy in private practice I spent 8 years as a faculty member teaching and training psychology graduate students, and I continue to teach, consult and present around the Bay Area. I have taught and published in the areas of child sexual abuse, trauma and dissociation, and eating disorders.
I am currently on the board of the Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology, and am a member of the International Association For Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy, and the American Psychological Association.
I got my Ph.D. at the California School of Professional Psychology in 1991 and became licensed in California in 1993.
